Cryptocurrency’s cousin, central bank digital currencies (CBDCs), might be a flop too – or at least that’s what new research suggests. According to the study, countries that have adopted CBDCs are experiencing declining well-being among young people and those with low incomes since their introduction in 2019-2023.
