Well well well! Look who’s trying to make cryptocurrency look good for once – it’s not going so badly after all, they’re saying! Five million users and 420,000 merchants participating in this fancy-schmancy Digital Rupee pilot? Sounds impressive until you realize that these are just people using a government-issued digital currency. Where’s the innovation there? The Reserve Bank of India is basically telling us to calm down about all those pesky cryptocurrencies everyone was talking about and look at how great their own CBDC is doing!
